Himalayan Climbing Season Begins!

The Himalayan climbing season is getting underway today, with many climbers arriving in Kathmandu, and making the last minute preparations for a two month long odyssey to the peak of Everest, or some other equally daunting mountain. You can get daily news and updates over at MountEverest.net.

Among today's news is the arrival of the Bahrainis that I wrote about last week, who are going for a speed record on Everest, despite the fact that they have zero experience with high altitude mountaineering. You've go to give it to them. They surely live by the creed: "Go big, or stay home!". :)
